camera shots first attempts

In our double lesson we had time to go out and practice a number of different camera shots. the lesson before we had the chance to plan out the different types of camera shots we wanted to have a go at and film.
the first shot we had a ago at and wanted to try was a medium shot with a zoom out. It started with a close up of my face do show the audience the emotion. It was slighty off centered in order to give the effect that something was slightly wrong. When i start to walk foward the camera zooms out letting us see more of the location and what i am wearing.I thought this shot went quite well as it was our first time using the camera. The things i think we need to improve on when doing this type of shot is to remeber to keep the zoom smoot and at the same speed everytime, because zooming out is very sensitive so we must be careful when using the zoom. Our teacher suggested it would be better to use a dolly in zoom out because it would give an unsettleing feel to the audience as the background starts to disappear and the subject stays the same which is me.

The second shot we tried to do was a low angle tilt up. This shot was rather easy to film we just had to the tilt the camera angle upwards at the correct speed. We tried this shot because we wanted to see how it would look when being played back. This shot is used to represent power and strength and dominace in can also make the subject look bigger. Next time we try this shot we may need the subjects to be facing the light so that we can see them more clealy because this time i was faced away from the light making my figure look dark.

The third shot we tried was a establishing shot. This time we has the camera still and had the subjects off centre to give unsettling look to audience. Our camera was on the tripod still and we let the subjects walk into the shot to give the effect i wasnt meant to be there or we met up secretly.

The final shot we tried was a pan right the is where the camera is on the tripod and we just move the top of the camera acccording to the subjects speed. Next time we do this shot we need to remember to get his feet in because we cut his feet out. What we need to do is to remeber if we are going to cut out part of someone body it must be at a joint like the knee or hip join not halfway through someones leg
